Yowsers!

Remember my wrist pain? Today I saw the doctor about that. He said I have deQuervain's tendinitis and carpel tunnel. I'm not convinced about the carpel tunnel diagnosis. He got that from my statement about my arms going numb at night. But, that only happens when I'm laying on my side and the arm I'm laying on falls asleep sometimes. I do not have numbness or tingling except when my arm falls asleep at night. He gave me some braces to wear at night just in case it is carpel tunnel.

To treat the tendinitis, he gave me a cortisone injection. The pain is so sharp in one place on my wrist that even when the doctor gently touched it, I jumped. Imagine a needle digging into that sensitive spot for 30 seconds. That hurt! Hopefully it will make my wrist feel better, he said I should feel a big improvement by tomorrow. Unfortunately, he also said that it will feel much worse for the remainder of today. I have to ice it and keep it elevated until I go to bed.

Have you ever had a cortisone injection? Did it hurt? Other people in my office have gotten them and they say it didn't hurt at all.

Im sorry it hurt so bad. Unfortunately I have had them in my knees so many times I cant remember, and once in my back. I can honestly say I only remember a couple not hurting at all, but I think that was because of the angle, or the pain I was feeling was so bad in that spot right then it overshadowed the injection itself. I hope you are feeling improvement soon. You are a VERY strong person if you made it through the visit without tears or socking the doc in the jaw! ;)

Ouch! That sounds miserable! Shannon had an alcohol shot in the ball of his foot, into a bundle of nerves, to kill the nerves. It REALLY hurt. Not a fun experience. I hope it's really, really better by tomorrow!

I'm so excited to learn of the new Kerb coming in March. We lost track of you once you graduated and moved. Tell your mom 'hi' for me. I'll keep checking back from time to time.

I got an injection to pop a cyst in my wrist. The needle hit the bone, it was so NASTY. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
Hope you don't have to get any more!
